Four Waterfalls Photography Walk - Brecon Beacons

Today, we drove to the Brecon Beacons to walk the Four Waterfalls trail with some good friends of ours. It’s been a little while since we’ve been to Wales, and driving the long, smooth roads with incredible vistas all around made me think we really need to visit more often.
We arrived at Gwaun Hepste car park and set out on the 5.5-mile circular trail. The day had started quite chilly, but as the sun climbed in the sky, so did the temperature. The trek through the woodland, still carpeted with bluebells, was stunning. But not as stunning as the power of the waterfalls. Although we hadn’t had any rain for quite some time, there was still plenty of power in the falling water.
We stopped at the second waterfall (Sgwd y Pannwr ) for a picnic, and what a great place to stop. The trees on the side of the hill shaded us from the sun, and the running water was so relaxing. Although not as impressive as the other waterfalls, it was just as beautiful.
We trekked on through the trail, climbing and descending many, many steps. Although it was quite a workout, it was all worthwhile when we descended to the final waterfall, Sgwd Yr Eira (Waterfall of Snow). This very impressive 50-foot-high waterfall is one of the few waterfalls in the UK that you can actually walk behind. We stayed a while to capture the moment and some images before heading back to the car.
Although marked as a 5.5-mile trail, we still managed to cover 6.5 miles. Must have been all the steps!
Here are some of my favourite images I captured along the way.
