Over the years, I have photographed many, many menu tastings at various restaurants and venues.
The head chefs will write and meticulously plan the menus months in advance. They will carefully select the ingredients, very often locally sourced and seasonal. They will consider every detail, right down to the plate on which the food will be served and how it’s plated. Then and only then, there will be a tasting where a group of people will gather around a table and spend many hours tasting and discussing which dishes will make the final menu. During this time, I am photographing every dish, hoping to make it look as good as it tastes.
